Big Twin West Dealer's Show 2005
Lost Wages, Nevada

The last time I was in Las Vegas, I was riding my motorcycle from Massachusetts to California for the first time. It was 1978, I was 18 years old, Harleys had rigid mounted, shovelhead motors and chain drives, the Low Rider was a new model, and Harley Davidson was owned by AMF. Times have changed and so has Las Vegas. The "Strip" that totally awed me back then, is now a quaint little relic known as Fremont Street. What has been built since then, is more like an adult Disney World on steroids. It was beyond the imagination. Needless to say, we had a blast, as we always do whenever we go to a motorcycle event.

When we got out there, we met up with Val and PQ of Z&Z Cycles, Bob Zeleski of New England Choppers, Steve of S&M Custom Cycles, in North Haven, Connecticutt, Bryan and Jim of J&J Powersports, and many others.

The bike show was also great. The bikes ranged from "Old School" to space-age and ultra-modern.

The Las Vegas Harley Davidson Cafe has a giant Heritage Softail sticking out over its front door, 7 Harleys circulating from an overhead conveyor belt, a replica "Captain America" bike from the film "Easy Rider", and the “World’s Heaviest Flag” Weighing over 7 tons, and made of 201 lengths of chain.

Custom Chrome treated all of its dealers to a private show at the House of Blues.

Fremont Street is still alive and kicking.

We couldn't get tickets for the Rolling Stones, but we did get to see the Moody Blues.

Those people from Z&Z sure know how to have fun!

The Water Show at the Bellagio:

The Fire Show at the Mirage:

The MGM Grand:

The Excalibur:

While we were out there, we took a spin over to Hoover Dam. It's worth the ride if you are in Vegas.
