Hello,
My name is Jake, and I am the President of Barnstorm Cycles. My job is to build bikes, fix bikes, make parts, cut, weld, bend, form, improve...... Basically, I like the jobs that get my hands dirty. (and keep me away from all the paper work.....haha)
As you might have read in
Our Story,
I have been around motorcycles my whole life, thanks to my dad, and have been working on them for almost as long. I learned a lot about the mechanical side of bikes apprenticing with P.Q. at
Z&Z Cycles.
From there I began to work on my first Harley, a 1986 883cc Sportster that I had bought from my dad when I was 16. I modified the bike extensively, changing the handlebars, oil tank, rear turn signals, speedometer, paint job and a number of other minor functional improvements...I even converted it from a chain final drive to a belt drive. I have since sold the bike, and have begun working on a new one.
The heart of the build is a 1941 H-D Knucklehead motor, a four-speed trans-kick only-, and an open primary drive. The frame I am using is a replica 1984 Panhead frame that has undergone some in-house modifications. The rest is yet to come...
